Alex chosen as a Mascot for Birmingham City FC
Christmas came early in 2014 for Alex Jones when he was chosen as a mascot for his beloved Birmingham City FC for the home game against Reading on 13th December.
Already a season ticket holder and something of a Blues obsessive he had always wanted to be a mascot for the day and thanks to the "very" persistent efforts of his mom his dream came true when the Blues invited him along. To say the excitement was off the scale would be putting it mildly.
He had a fantastic day where he was presented with a brand new first team kit and various other goodies, warmed up on the pitch in front of all the supporters and then walked out of the tunnel hand in hand with the Blues full back Jonathan Grounds closely watched from the best seats in the house by his Mom, Dad (who I think had a bit of grit in his eye!) and his big sister.
Not only was Alex a mascot but he was very much a lucky one as his team went on to win the match 6-1!! He has been warned that this will probably never happen again but it was certainly a day that he will never forget.
Well done Alex.
